Mormon missionary work is voluntary. It is not draft. Mormon missionaries try get converts by presenting the religious message and living a wholesome lifestyle.
Donnie and Marie are members of a ward. If there was a decision, regarding how each could do missionary work that decision would be through the ward, the local bishop. The ward is key to every Mormon's life.
If I have this right, Donnie and Marie perform missionary work (sole purpose to present Mormons to new comers) by their performances and their lifestyle.
These are the facts and processes. No one was paid off, and the Mormon priesthood is male.

They gave the Mormons something they like far more than their mission work - their money! Marie Osmond is not a lesbian, she was married and has a house full of children (I don't know how old they are).

they did theirs by entertaining people around the world. marie isnt a lesbo she is married and has about 7 kids.
