Because it is a physical assault. Rape is about violence and power, not about sex. Rapists commit rape because they get off on having power over their victims.
If you're still confused, have somebody rape you and then maybe you'll figure things out.

Second, rape is legal in some states if is on your wife, so it is discriminatory to other states to make it illegal in their land! If I rape in New York, I have to go to prison! If i rape in Texas, my wife makes me dinner while I go out to the bar and rip shots and get more head! Your question is logical and needs to be discussed by the government far more often. The United States of America is divided, not united, on Rape!

ok, the way the law system works is that the rights of the many are usually upheld against the rights of the few. people do not want to be violated, thus, there are laws against rape.
