I think it's not really a case of being ashamed of it, more like other people response to it. They seem to think "oh she can't get laid", instead of the fact that it's a choice thing. I haven't had sex for over 4 years and some of the reactions I get are amazing. It's an issue of choice(long story). It's not that I van't get any...I don't have a third eye or anything

Hi I'm 16 years old gal named Dee (that's my nick name). I 'm not ashamed to say to other people that I'm virgin. There so many friends of mine un-virgin now, but I'm so sad to know 'bout that. Always keep my virginity before I'm married is my motto. I'll always be proud with my status virginity that show that I respect and honour my future husband. And I'll always find a virgin husband to for my future time. Why you should ashamed if you virgin??? That so cool, because you are diffrent....

I teach Jr. High and while I know I don't hear EVERY detail, from what I hear, it's the "whores" that are ridiculed and the virgins pretty much stick up for themselves....not the same with the boys though, they all seem to be non-virgins (or so they say) It's funny, I was in Jr. High in 1968 and it was the same then....LOL

No shame in being a virgin, if they don't understand this gift from God, then I feel sorry for them! The females most of the time are saying this stuff just because of the males, that may not like them if they are virgins, or vice-versa, after all this is not fair because it affects our social life!

Maybe because in society today young people lose their virginity in their early teens and if they still have it by their late teens they think it is bad because nobody wants to sleep with them.

you misunderstood about it...they are not ashamed of being a virgin...they are shy to announce their sexual innocence...girls should be shy and sensitive if you start to ask them if they are virgin or not. pls be more sensitive to other genders feeling.
