Word of mouth is great but word by click gets to more people. How many emails do you get that were forwarded from someone?

Yes....and No

Yes - cos its really powerful and effective

No - cos its out of your control, therefore you cant really depend on it, measure it etc except in the most abstract way.

Its not really something you can practice (altho' trendy agencies tell me they do - sponsoring trendy people to talk about them in positive way) But I reckon that just BS (would you trust total strangers wittling on about product X) and go the way of adverts on belly buttons and store floors.
