Most of the people who are against abortion are not against abortion per se, but against the idea of sex without consequence. This is why you have such fierce resistance against the Pill, which is not even related to abortion. For that matter, even condoms are getting a lot of heat from the Vatican and many churches.
Anyways, as far as abortion goes, their nightmare would be that abortion be used as an anti-pregnancy form of birth control, and for it to be a routine thing. Not everyone against abortion thinks like this, but probably a solid majority of the anti-abortion voting public do. So that's one reason why they're trying to deter it.
The other reason is that since Roe vs Wade legalized abortion, anti-abortion activists cannot flat out ban it, so they try to add waiting periods and restrictions to reduce the amount of abortions. Maybe they can't stop abortions from happening, but in their view, at least they can cut the numbers down

That's funny; I've never heard of the idea of "abortion on demand." All the pro-life movements I've heard of/been involved in focus on the fact that it's a human life you're killing, not just a "bunch of cells" being taken care of the same way you would remove a tumor.

If it were not available than it would not be legal.Imagine there would be a few protests if it were still legal to force an abortion, on someone unwilling.Like it used to be, government would force pregnant mental patient to abort.

good question even though i think abortion is morally wrong i still think women should have a choice whether they want the baby especially in the event of rape. If the abortion isn't ready to go when they need one then why have them? jeeze i really need to ponder check ya later â¥

I only somewhat support abortion, myself. I only think that it is right in the situation of rape and especially that of incest. I don't think that it should be used as a common practice for planned parenting.

They see something wrong with everyone but themselves.
It should be available on demand. How else could you possibly do it?
