There is no commitment in self-mutilation. Commitment is the bond that is between emotions and desires not anything physical. Commitment comes from within the person and disfiguring yourself will not strengthen any bond. For a lasting commitment just be honest and open to eachother and grow together within yourselves.

You can do other things that are symbolic. Don't harm urself for it. For example, a tattoo would be a great alternative.
