I have formulated my own opinion that asians generally only associate/are friends with mostly asians...It seems to me that when Asia was in its Isolationist point in history, it was through the course of then and now that asians have isolated themselves in society. I mean, things like anime, computers, DDR and the like are synynymous with asians...It's as though ethnic and racial diversity and tolerance in asian culture is almost non-existent or slow in development. Any thoughts?

don't Caucasians, African Americans, Hispanics or maybe Persians hang out together? And Actually I think you have poor observation skills (if you have any at all). The truth is Asians are the ones you will notice all over hanging out with different kinds of people. Go out there, think about it and observe harder.

Ok wait I totally don't agree. I'm asian and all through high school and now my friends are white, african, greek, totally diverse. And of course the whole computers, anime, DDR is synonymous with asians, that's because it was invented by asians but i've seen some pretty good black and mexican people work the DDR machine (in public, which only means they must practice that a lot somewhere).
I suppose you can say birds of a feather flock together but then you can say that of all nationalities, mexican, black, white, purple...
And how is it that you generalize that just because you see asians associating with each other makes them "slow in development" I could say the same about mexicans... it's just to general.
What brings anybody together is commonalities, that's just how people stay comfortable
I think this whole oh i'm different from you so stay away thing is getting real old. Talk to who you want to talk to, don't talk to people you don't feel like talking to, just don't judge ANYONE.

I used to live with this Asian guy who came to the US when he was 8. Every friend he had was non-Asian. He was embarrased when his mother would call because she spoke little english and he didn't want me to talk to her. He tried to rid himself of his traits that were considered cultural. He apologized every time he did something that was sterotypical Asian. He seemed to be stuck between his Asian culture and his desire to be seen as an American. I felt bad for him. I eventually moved out because our differences were so vast that we did not get along well in the end. After I thought about it, I could see that perhaps maybe our differences were cultural. I chose to decide that they were human differences instead.

Look around you. They have very limited choices. A majority of Asians I have met are about getting ahead.

Sometimes it is because of the way they were brought up. Their culture is different and some of the beliefs they have so it is easier to be around others like them who are the same.

tollerance does exist amoung Asian people, but most people tend to flock with people that have simmilar interrests...their environments may lead them to eachother.
