Despite what you've read, Political Science is not strictly about "government" in the practical sense. Political Science is the study of human group dynamics--how humans assemble into groups or societies with the inevitable hierarchies, rules and social contracts that are thus necessitated. It's a lot more than just "the three branches of government, etc."
