I found the race "ebony" in many occassions. But couldnt actually
track out who they really are. I thought that ebony is an offspring of a white and a black parents.

Ebony is not a race.African-Americans use different terms or words to describe the color of our race instead of Black or African-American.Such as>Ebony,Chocolate,Caramel,Cocoa etc..."He is an Ebony God",She is a beautiful chocolate girl."etc...

ebony means black... most black black people use the wqord ebony, unlike other races... there is a magazine called ebony.. strictly for African Americans as well as molado which is half black and half white...Me

I guess it's a way to say black but it's not a race. If it were I would be of the Ivory race.

Ebony is a beautiful color in representation of a type of wood from a tree that carries different shades ranging from brown to the deepest shade of black. It is a color that can describe a race of blacks who s heritage has not been established as a a descendent of or native of Africa, which dispells the assumption that all blacks are descendants of Africa. There is a black class of people who were Jewish, of whom escaped to Africa and were enslaved by Africans and were also sold as slaves to Europeans. It is safe to say that unless a black person is known as a descendant of Africa, he or she may refer to himself as an Ebony American.
