I am not sure how you define "greatest country."

I define it as providing the greatest good for the greatest number possible within the limits imposed by a legal framework which requires a reasonable respect for the rights of the individual.

I realize that not everyone would agree with this definition.

Many would argue that the overall benefits created are more important than any respect for individual rights. Others would insist that the rights of the individual always trump the common good.

My appreciation of the United States is based on the opinion that it does the best job of striking a reasonable balance between individual rights and policies which enhance the overall welfare of the community.

As for ruling the world, I doubt that any nation can do it. The USA has the power to destroy the world but that is hardly the same thing as ruling the world.

only if tyrants are pinups and butt heads are policy makers. To rule the world when your so far up yourself you are almost inside out is not destiny its fate, the question you should be asking yourself is, why has'nt someone turned the lights on up there yet?

Hmmm........I don't really think its anyone's destiny to "rule" the world. I dont think anyone should "rule" the whole world. Thats just too much power for anyone!
