it's normal, people lose anywhere from 25-100 hairs in a day, it's most vulnerable in the shower cause it its wet so it stretches and breaks.

but if it seems like more... visit with your Doctor, better safe than sorry.

Hair can fall out if you have been suffering from stress (the stress would have to have been a couple of months ago)
You can also lose more hair than you should if you are anaemic (lacking iron in your blood) So if you have been feeling down and tired get some iron tablets. If your hair continues to fall out see your doctor as you may need some blood tests to rule out other things like thyroid problems. Don't worry if its stress your hair will come back. Hair grows in cycles and you should see improvement in a couple of months.

Have you been more stressed than usual? A friend of mine lost her hair when her parents got divorced...it was very stressful for her. A doctor suggest that she find ways to cope with the stress and to take a multi vitamin.

I'd say it's totally normal. My sister has has super thick curly hair, and every single time she washes her hair it's like it falls out in clumps. But nothing's wrong with her. I have really short hair and it still falls out. If it's falling out in the shower, it's probably not really falling out. It probably broke off earlier in the day and now you're getting it out of the rest of your hair.

If it is just a couple of strands, then it is dead hair folicles. But if it falling out in large clumps, that's when you say oh on!!and be scared that it may be cancer

Good luck and I pray that it is nothing serious

If you just had a baby or just went off the pill that could be why. It will stop eventually.
