You have to devote lots of time to complicated problems; there is no 'cure-all' or pat solution. Big problems have to be managed, with certain solutions implemented at certain times, and some will take longer to work than others. Your best bet is an an understanding, level-headed mind and lots of patience.

Well, it's hard to give you very specific suggestion based on your broad question.

In general, my way is to break the problem into parts, try to simplify it and list it out if possible. By tackling simplified parts one by one, you may then consolidate the whole thing and see if that may give you a solution.
