I want to start a regular IRA. Is it cheaper to open it at a bank
or a stock broker. I'm going to put in a couple thousand a year
but I don't want to pay a lot of front money. I understand that
a lot of IRAs charge a 25 to 50 dollar a year fee.

open an account at a credit union. some have a $100 opening for an IRA. I have one that way, and the limit went up to 6000 a year I think. There shouldn't be a fee that way but check the bank out first.
