I am a Vietnam veteran and cannot understand how any combat vet can be 'for' a war.

I am, & I am. Combat is always a place you don't want to be, and standing beside people you never want to leave. There are good reasons to be there & pulling out now serves no purpose but to have lost all these guys for nothing as the enemy continues to advance. Iraq & the war on Islamic extremism ARE seperate issues, but they're also happening in the same place at the same time.

for the war is a little open ended but my friends that served tell me they think its for a good reason but wouldn't want to go back so ask a little more specific question next time and i don't think if you were fighting your *** off in Iraq you wouldn't want to hear all these dumbf**** bad mouthing the war.
