at this pt. i'm using a bootable cd to start-up,i want to have a direct start-up with-out booting from a cd?what modification should i do?

If F8 and F12 don't work, try DEL to get a BIOS setup dialog. Then change the boot order as described by jz. Good luck!

when you start up your computer the first screen that comes up it will say setup and either F12 or F8. strike whatever key it says before it gets to the next screen. that will take you into your bios. there will be an option in there to change the order of the boot method. ie: cd, floppy disk, harddrive.
