I type my opinion on this at least once a week.
Harry Potter is children's (and some adults--like me!) FICTION!!!!! It is a made-up, fun story. It is about a male witch, but it is NOT witchcraft! Some of the characters (made up--fictional---remember this part) are witches who are GOOD and some are BAD--------classic battles of good and evil. Ohmigosh, is Superman witchcraft?? He Can fly! Is Wonder Woman witchcraft? She flies an invisible plane! Is Batman...........oh, you get the picture.
Stop being such a fraidy-cat, and enjoy the books.

Yes! I won't watch the movies. There is such a thing as witchcraft so I will have nothing to do with it as it does present spells etc which can be placed on people. I know it probably is not meant for more than entertainment, but as a Christian, I can't embrace Christ and Harry Potter.

Altho the Harry Potter series is an excellent pasttime, it cannot be considered witchcraft. Magic does not happen by a waving of wands or chanting of words resulting in sparkly things fluttering to the ground. Magic is a effort of will to change nature's laws . It is asking for a bend in reality. Its not a "poof" and done thing, its a slow manifesting reaction.

In Narnia the witch is used as symbolism and has a deeper meaning, all the Narnia sequence have a deeper Christian intending to it. the priority I see with Harry Potter is the completed witchcraft. it is all it particularly is in certainty approximately. If the witchcraft became toned down a sprint like in the different video clips/books i could be extra comfortable with it, and you will desire to look at what it particularly is doing to our young toddlers. On Halloween all of them want to be a character from HP and want to pretend they are doing witchcraft and casting spells. you quite do no longer see lots toddlers desirous to be the fairy Godmother. I particularly have examine the books and considered the movies and that i did no longer discover lots interest in them. the different tale's do use magic even yet it is not based all on witchcraft, and are extra perfect than HP. those are my perspectives on the situation.

No, Harry Potter Series considered Fiction. It is a fantasy. Every one in some way has wished they could fly or just poof something or some one away at various points in their lives. This is just a series about what would happen if you could actually do that.

No, of course not. Magic does not equal witchcraft! Christian writer C.S. Lewis said it best:
"Do you think I am trying to weave a spell? Perhaps I am; but remember your fairy tales. Spells are used for breaking enchantments as well as for inducing them. And you and I have need of the strongest spells that can be found to wake us from the evil enchantment of worldliness which has been laid upon us for nearly a hundred years."
J.K. Rowling is a big big fan of C.S. Lewis, and she is also a Christian. The themes in Harry Potter are decidedly Christian, and Christians who oppose the books have either not read the books, or are not educated enough to recognize the Christian symbolism imbedded in the books.
The site below is a great book about how magic can play a role in Christian literature, and how it relates to Harry Potter.

It's considered witchcraft by fundamentalists who can't stand seeing anything that is contrary to the beloved Bible, but it's fiction, so enjoy Harry Potter. Don't listen to the fundamentalists.

No. They are a fictional series of childrens books. They are in the same category as any fairy tales, the OZ and Narnia books, comic books, science fiction and fantasy books, and a variety of other childrens stories. These stories encourage children to READ and to use their imaginations.
What really bothers me is that the people who accuse the Harry Potter books of being evil are usually the same people who buy their kids violent video games and let their kids watch violent programs on television. If you don't like the books don't read them, but don't discourage other people from allowing their children to read and learn.

NO.
FICTION.
This is the result of a woman's imagination and a pretty good one at that. The only people would say such things are afraid of their own shadows, have nothing better to do, just heard it from someone else, never read the book in the first place and are myopic.
Who has ever heard of someone truly flying on a broom, speaking snack language, making a car invisible, turning into bugs and having a three headed dog???? I mean come on its just SO obvious.
