I've been married to my husband for 2.5 years. He has 3 children from his first marriage. The oldest is 21 and recently had a baby, making my husband a young grandfather. I'm looking for a name the baby can call me other than "grandma". I want something cute as well as something that doesn't make me sound old or feel old. I'm only 39 and my youngest child is 2 years old. I hardly feel old enough to be a grandmother in the first place. Any suggestions?

If you act like a "Grandma" then you are Grandma.

Sounds like you like to keep everything "real" me too. I have step kids, step grand kids and it's a trip sometimes. I honestly let the kids deside. The only reason I honestly prefer them to call me "Bob" is because "grandpa" just sounds old. (I'm not growing old without a fight! LOL! )

How about: NaNa!

Have fun with it! Fairy godmother, Mother Goose, the french term ("Grandmere") or Mamama, or Mama Jenny (if Jennifer is your name) or some name the kids think up for you that you laugh at.

Since this is an infant, you want a short, cute name that you can stick with through the baby's childhood.

You sound terribly vain. Let him call you by your first name or whatever silly name you choose.
