I'm going to be taking my pre-nursing classes next year and am signing up for school next week. Does anybody have suggestions for a minor? I'm really interested in psychology, and I might fall back on it if I can't get into nursing school. Are there any other minors I should think about? At this point I'm not sure yet what area of nursing I want to go into.

Minor in a language to make yourself more valuable as an employee. Being fluent in a second language makes you 92% ahead of other people applying for a job.

Operating room nurse is fascinating. I would recommend you study business and management along with your nursing...once you become a nurse and if you wish to get ahead in the field, business and management would be a great help.

You made psychology sound like it's a simple thing to fall back on. Psychology 101 may be enjoyable and simple, but it does get more complex as you go along and not simple at all.

Nursing is very black and white whereas psychology is very gray and far easier to be bad at than nursing.

Geriatrics will be sorely needed in the next 10 - 30 years. You will be well-paid if you get a headstart now.
