It's a temporary anti-anxiety med, like Xanax. She is probably worried about you, rape vicitms (understandably) have fear & anxiety problems. Klonopin will help you to chill until you are fully able to cope with what happened to you via therapy. Many rape victims have anxiety & panic issues, this is normal and should be addressed.
It's not bad for you, any more so than any other drug used to adjust your psyche. It is meant as a temporary treatment, though, and can be addictive (again, like Xanax). You may wish to discuss this with your doctor. Zoloft can also work well for people with a temporary anxiety or panic problem, and is not addictive.
Good luck, therapy can & will help you, and if your doctor feels you need pharaceutical help, this is not something to be ashamed of. But you should discuss it with her if you are concerned.

Klonopin is actually the brand name for the medicine called clonazepam. It is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines. Clonazepam affects chemicals in your brain that may become unbalanced and cause seizures or symptoms of panic disorder. It can also be used for other treatments. Perhaps she prescribed it to help you cope with the anxiety and stress that might have occured due to you situation.

Simple reply: YES My closest buddy is male and he was once raped as soon as via his then female friend, he was once blacked out on the time. Rape in it is such a lot elementary definition is compelled intercourse. Also in a few nations forcing an item, no longer only a frame aspect, into *particular areas* is classified as rape, or drowsing with anybody underneath a particular age would possibly rely as rape. So in such nations if a girl did that to a male she might be raping him.

Don't know anything about the drug, just wanted to say that I'm sorry you were violated. Though it is normal to feel bad, remember that the other person is the bad guy here. I guess I mean don't let this bad person break your spirit. Try to protect your emotions and let all the badness reflect back on the violator. Please know that I've said a prayer that God will send someone to encourage you. I really am sorry. We are sending you e-hugs - if that helps. Hope you feel better.

I found it to be very sedating. If you feel you want to sleep all the time, be sure to tell the doctor.
