add water frequently and high nitrogen fertilizer with weedkiller. Eventually, the healthy grass will choke out the weeds. Use balanced fertilizer at the end of summer to grow cold resistant roots.

The most important component for trees, grass and most plants is lots of water. Water in the morning to prevent fungus infections and brown spot.

Buy a spray that you spray directly on the weed. Make sure you read the labels because some are made specifically to kill only weeds and others are made to kill weeds and grass or any plants it touches. I am not sure where you are from so I don't know brands and such but if you call a hardware store around and ask they will be able to tell you which brands.

Also what the person above said is right too. You can buy a Scott's fertilizer that also has something in it's formula to effectively kill and prevent weeds. A bag of this is more expensive then a spray but depending on how many weeds you have it might be the better option. :)

Grass is cool. When you get the weeds out you can cultivate it to a perfect "green" and play Bacci. Get a long screwdriver and yes get the roots. Pour small pebbles over the lawn and rake it even and flat. Then SLOWLY add sand out of a "spreader" ( for garden chemicals ) over the course of time you should be able to level the grass with sand. This process should take about two years for the best results. The grass will grow through the pebbles and sand if you do it slow enough.

You can pull the weeds or the best way is to use a liquid weed killer that is sprayed by a licensed fertilizer company. Sometimes it becomes a little costly bepending on the size of your lawn.

Seriously best answer would have to be...Pick the weeds, making sure you obtain the root and all when doing so. There are chemicals on the market, but who knows what side effects they may bring.
