It depends. If you're a foreign company that's fairly successful in your own market, Singapore will be a good place to expand. If you're a local, things are a lot harder. There are a lot of schemes to encourage entrepreneur to start businesses here. But at the end of the day, you still need a good product and sound business mind to make it.

It will of course depend on the type of business that you are starting. Singapore has a well educated, tech savvy workforce. In addition, they have a tradition of internationalism and a strong work ethic. It is a small island, more suited to service or tech companies than manufacturing.
