Do you think there are trends in sex addiction (popular in the 1980s, not popular in the 90s and popular now?)

These periods are just an example that I made up.

There are in many things like that. Sometimes depression is more popular. then anxiety disorder or panic disorder. Used to be hysteria and 'vapors' and nervous breakdowns. sex addiction as a term was probably coined within the last 20 years. so it's recent.

I think sex addiction is an excuse to explain away aberrant behaviors
