Yes, but it can be highly therapetutic with playing with their child. They can relive the simplier life and teach by sharing about building equipment and share their experience.
Normally, men have more expensive toys by now. LOL
Their is a saying , " The difference between men and boys is the price of their toys". I really do agree with that. (or hobby)

Not strange at all, playing with trucks is fun. Everyone has a hobby they like to spend time doing.

I don't think it is strange it is natural to be connected with your inner child.
