For starters get rid of the bottle tell him it is time to be a big boy . The bottle and the juice will ruin his teeth. You are enabling him by giving it to him. He is full off of the juice he will not die if you tell him no he may through a fit but you have to ignore it and go on and let him know that the fit is not going to get it back. The bottle is just a security blanket get him a sippy cup and not one that has a stopper cause they are just like bottles. Be strong you can do this he will not break the habit if you don't break your habit of giving in.

I have a almost two year old, and she drinks alot to I give her juice. She has about 50 oz a day, and she fills her dipper up in the next two seconds, or thats what it feals like. I am also in the potty training stage. The way I make my sippy cup is 2 oz of juice, and 8 oz of water. My kid will not drink water, it has to be flavored. For reasurance I had her checked out and there was nothing wrong with her. The doctor said that she is just realy active, so that makes her more thirsty than hunggery. Another thing is my kid eats very very small portion of food, but she has a little allday. YOU SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO FORCE FEED YOUR KIDS!!!!!!!!

It is recommended that children only have 1/2 a cup of juice a day. That's not very much, but there's 4 tsps of sugar in it!! I would offer milk or water instead. He may protest, but it's much better for him. It may be an idea to have his blood sugar tested as well. Excessive thirst is a sign of diabetes, although it's very unlikely that that's the problem. He probably just likes it more than your first child, and since he can have it, he's filling up on it. I would recommend giving him water, and then he will get hungry from the lack of calories. God Bless

First and foremost, stay the h*ll away from juice. True, while it's natural fruit sugar, it is still sugar, and provides relatively little nutrition for your baby. If she likes apple juice, try giving her a sweet, soft apple...golden delicious is the first one that comes to mind. It's loaded with fiber and vitamins. If you had the choice between sicky sweet apple juice or peas and ham, which one would you take (assuming you're a 1 year old baby and prefer sweets?) If I were you, I'd nix the juice completely.
Have you tried giving him a variety of foods? At one year old, he probably has plenty of teeth and is ready to start eating "human food" as I call it, lol. Try giving him little bites of whatever the rest of the family is eating, instead of baby food from the jar (assuming he's still on jarred food). Just make sure the food is cut up small enough to prevent choking, and that it's mildly seasoned. (Flaming Hot burritos isn't a great idea for a one year old, lol!)

i agree with all the above. my daughter is the same age and is doing this as well. definitely cut out the juice as children do not need juice. water is fine. also then as others said he may be hungrier as he is not full of sugar. also try going back to pureed food for a while as he may be teething and just not want to eat anything that is hard to chew. my daughter is doing this now. its a pain but at least she is still getting good food. u may go through a few screaming matches but at least he will have good food in his belly and sugar. worth it in the long run.

I would have his blood sugar checked. If that comes back normal then get rid of the juice or at least cut down on it. The sugar from the juice is helping to fill your baby up causing him to not be hungry. Again, I would have his blood sugar checked first though.

Juice has a lot of sugar and calories. try giving him water. then he will be hungry for food because water doesn't have calories. Lots of juice is not a good diet for a baby. instead of apple juice give him an apple to gum, or grapes, or a pear.

Stop giving your son juice. Juice has calories and hardly any nutrients. Stick to water and your baby will get hungry. Since your child likes juice, just give him fresh fruits. This way he can get more vitamins.
If your child continues not to eat, talk to your pediatrician. You may need to give your child vitamins.

You could try blending fruits and vegetables to make healthier juice. Also it is more important that your child receives proper amounts of vitamins and calories than the amount of food your child consumes.
