Uncovering what exists AS it exists-- that is, to put oneself in that state of dissatisfaction of uncertainty-- to restrain the importune usage of reifying concepts so that our understanding may grow, our limitations faced and dissolve, to make known coherence from what was chaos. But also to dance with chaos and remember that our paintings are both as real as the real, subordinate to the real, and more real than the real--- all at the same moment. Any Philosophy spells its death in dogmatism. Which is the mode of so-called "real-life." To every limit there is a beyond to think or unthink. That's our job.

Knowledge of the self and surroundings. It requires questioning everything that comes to mind, and finding the root cause. It requires contemplation more than anything else. It requires imagination, logic, understanding of people, observing and analyzing animals and plants as well as sky and stars, and anything and everything, and being open to good ideas, until you find better ones. Its output is the clarity of the soul, sharing, and comfort.
