For fancy dress parties, I usually go as a ninja...the fact that I'm 6'1" and weigh 250 pounds, and am anything but stealthy, just seems really funny to me!

I really do not go to many parties. If it is just a casual get together or even a bigger social event, I try to look my best if I have time I will go all out. I will take extra time to add nice accessories to my outfit and makeup. I try to choose something appropriate to wear that fits my age and style, but does not stand out too much. I don't like all of the attention in the room. I like to look my best and just fit in. I am really not the party type person and never fit in with the drinking ones anyway. I am very easy to talk to and to approach, however I am not the one to approach people. I talk with my friends and then meet people through them. So what I wear really doesn't matter just so I feel comfortable and fits the occasion. It is nice to pamper yourself before going out because getting ready is more than half the fun of almost any event.

At university, I threw some insane fancy dress parties. For a normal house party I will not make a huge effort, just dress fairly smart

Depends of what sort of party. if it is formal black tie, you may need to follow. If just a friendly party, probably you just need to be yourself. Special occasion need special attention.
