I am in my last month of my 1st pregnancy. The past few days I have had the most horrible pains in my hips. Not the hip bones, but the part that connects the thigh to the hip.
Is this normal? How long does it last? Can I do anything to help it?

yep I had that problem too. it's the sciatic nerves there. Watch out sometimes your leg can give out on you when it hits. As the weight comes off and you can start walking normally again it will ease up. I have noticed though that I have to sometimes watch how fast I turn or pivot or it will suddenly hurt out of the blue. I didn't have it with my first but with my last 3 kids worse each time. try to stretch out at night before you go to sleep that will help the leg cramps during your sleep too

I remember having this type of pain when I was in the last trimester. OBGYN said it was the pressure on the pelvis. Try a heating pad, hot bath or rub some black seed oil on it ( but check with dr about the black seed oil. Not much longer for u to go, hang in there!

aahhhhh that freaking pain in the butt. literally. it is your hips spreading preparing for child birth. feels like your having your legs ripped off. but the end is almost near:)

oddly enough movement helps a lot. walking helped me the most. proping your legs up when resting also helps. DON'T MAKE ANY SUDDEN MOVEMENTS!!! move slowly

i hurt like that the last week of my pregnancies.

good luck and congrat

*it gets better after baby:)

The baby is resting on your sciatic nerve. And yes it is extremely painful, ask your doctor if you can take aleve.
Altrenate ice and heat on the area between your lower back and hip.

I had the same thing. I think that is is your sciatic nerve. I found that propping my legs with pillows as I slept really helped. It also went away after my son was born. Good luck
