I've heard that rumor before but didn't know if it was true.

It doesn't delay it... but if you are IN the water it will stop your period for the most part while you're in the water.. .because the pressure of the water outside is equal two or greater than the outside.. Now this doesn't mean you can't go in the pool with out cleaning yoru self well and wearing a tampon.. because it doesn't happen instantly and the residue from be for you get in the pool will still disperce into the water.

No water will not delay your period. I would never have mine if it did. I wish.

Thats a new one for me....I have serious doubts that it will stop your period.
