Hospitals in the 1950's had no emergency rooms, no cheerful wall paint or decor, no Intensive care units, no trauma units, few female doctors, no air conditioning, no male nurses, weak generators for electrical backup,no snack bars or cafeterias, no good food(and I mean it was ofren spoiled).
Patients were not informed about what their treatments were, what their vital signs were, and why they were given medicines.
Most hospitals were segregated in the 1950's.
Survival rates for surgery were much lower then.
Few of the treatments that are available today, were available then.

No computers in the 50's - everything was hand written or typed. For scheduled surgery you checked in the day before rather than the morning of.

Believe it or not. Hospitals are safer today then they were even 10 years ago. Cleaner and better staffed.

Ummmmm, I don't get it. Have you been institutionalized lately? If not, maybe you ought to consider it.
