If two gay folks want to write up a social contract that gives them legal couple privileges, fine and dandy, but I'd rather let Webster be the final arbiter of what marriage is: A union for the production and development of children, preferably by the same people. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Pro....I do not want our government telling me (a heterosexual) who I can or can not marry, and I don't think it's any of their business who anyone else chooses to marry either. By the way, "god" has nothing to do with it. I do not believe in god and I am married. We are talking about a legal matter, not a religious matter -- sure can't tell that though by the way everyone is acting though. Has anyone out there ever heard of something called "the separation of church and state?" I personally do not need or want our government poking it's nose into my personal love life, and I will never support any kind of amendment to our constitution that supports or promotes discrimination of any kind.

Anti, gay and lesbian acts and decisions are a sin, if you dont know that then read the bible. God meant for women and men to be together, not woman and woman, nor man and man, I dont mean to sound like a preacher or anything, im only 14, but i strongly disagree with it.

Anti. The bible makes it clear that homosexuality is an abomination. And plus, two of the same sex cannot reproduce naturally, which is one of the main reasons for marriage, so you can have sex with your mate and start a family, all before the eyes of God.

i have no probably with gay people i just think its a slap in the face if god said for you not to be gay at all and then you want to take something special that a man and a woman share together and make it for you just so you can feel like this is a real relationship i think its wrong but i what ever its only hell

well honestly i see maybe a little back lash from it. if the government cant regulate it then the age limit can be contested. but thats a personal thing seen to many loopholes abused. but i also see the community at large ignoreing small attempts at rights. you can have a civil union no we dont want that all or nothing. the minority does not have power unless the majority gives it to them. so i dont like maybe 10% of the population telling me what to do again thats a personal thing.

anti all the way, there are many freedoms, but there are limits where the line has to be drawn. having a fetish for the same gender cannot be basis to establish a family.

I am pro. In fact, I think only gays should be able to marry, not straights.
