Do something fun and a little less ordinary together. One year my husband suprised me by whisking me off to the beach. he had gotton takeout food from this really great itallian place and we had a little moonlit picnic. Next year we are playing with the idea of getting tatoos. You could go rock clibling or take a hike up to a beautiful spot and take in the veiw. A hot air balloon ride or, if more adventurous maybe sky diving lessons. Whatever you do, try to establish your own little traditions. Like every year no matter what our plans we always have a glass of champagne from our wedding flutes together. One year we had just moved, and were completly broke and had our champagne in the middle of an empty apartment with nothing but lawn chairs for furniture and that was one of the most memorable. Maybe because it was such a clear message that it doesnt really matter what you do as much as who you are with. Happy Aniversery, and Good Luck.

If your going by the traditional "Paper Anniversary" then buy tickets to an event or a getaway.
Even a voucher for a weekend getaway at a nice hotel will spark up the day.
Happy Anniversary!

On your 1st anniversary, spend a quiet dinner for two at home. No phones, tv, etc. When you are looking into each eyes, remember the very first time that you meet and you knew this person was the one you wanted to spend your life with.
Happy Anniversary to you both. I just celebrated my 25th anniversary this year.

all depends on where you live...
Why not go to Connecticut/Vermont area or Maine and take a few days during fall to see the leaves change color. It's the best area in the US for it and is quite wonderful & romantic. Find a sleepy little town with a bed & breakfast
