Of course they do. If the books were more popular, you'd see a lot more people turning into frogs and other weird things like that. Luckily only 7 people have actually read them.

I've been trying myself for several years now, I even bought a wand from the Harry Potter product line. So far all I can get to work is the button on the wand to get it to light up! Please, please don't try the Avarus Cadaverus spell, that one actually works!
