My X said he wanted to go to counseling....right....so I asked him to not smoke in the house if he comes back because we have a daughter that has been in hospital many times with Asthma....not he tells me he ain;t going to counseling cause he thinks I am trying to rule over him by making him not smoke in the house.

You need to tell him straight up that you will not put your daughters life in jeopardy for someones second hand smoke. If he cares anything about the daughter he would agree no questions asked? Sounds like he needs to grow up and take responsibility for his actions. If he wants to be a dumbass and not cooperate, then tell him until he can abide by this request than its time he moves on, and not to come around if he wants to act like a jerk. No smoking in the house is rule number one. Once that is resolved then go to step two in getting back together. The child needs clean air.

Why don't you designate a room in the house for him to smoke in or do whatever else he wants to do where your daughter knows to stay out of.

sounds to me like hes only thinking about hisself. i think he would stay a ex till he realizes how important his daughter is. and as far as counseling. i dont think he wants counseling. are he wouldnt make a decision like that!!!! you have every right to not want him to smoke in your house.

Keep him your X. Your daughters health is more important than trying to put up with a "baby" cause that is what your X is being.

your child's health is more important than his ego. tell him to grow up and for heaven's sake, don't let him back into the house until he starts acting like an adult.
