Are you a freaking dope or what? The stuff you've been putting in you tire had better be air. Oxygen is highly combustable, and just a simple leak and spark will cause an explosion. Now we all know that the majority of the air around us is nitrogen, and it's a stable substance when not exposed to an open flame! If you want to fill up you tires goto the nearest gas station and pay the air pump! If you have actually been filling up your tires using an oxygen bottle I'd stop. That's just rediculous, and foolish.

magicman is correct in that nitrogen by itsely is inert. the positives and negatives are as follows.

pos.- nitrogen being inert tends to remain more stable in compression and density relative to temp.( its density rate is a constant based on environment.) contrary to popular belief your tires will not explode if you use nitrogen!!!!! nitrogen is used in indy car, nascar, and motogp to name a few.

neg.- other than lack of immediate availability in many areas there arent any negatives to using nitrogen.
