well first and foremost it's hotter than hell right now! LOL!
we had dust storms 2 nights in a row which is very unusual for the beginning of june, but officially our monsoon season starts in july. as far as ghetto goes, parts of phoenix (like south phoenix, and central, and parts of tempe as well) aren't that wonderful so to speak)
there are other cities that are much nicer like scottsdale, (low crime rates) and parts of mesa, gilbert and chandler.
a good website to visit if you're coming out is azcentral.com and goarizona.com
hope i helped a little

It's hotttttttt brother. From about late May to Late September, it is over 100 degrees each day. Every state has a ghetto, barrio, trailer park trash, or whatever you want to call it. Here (Phoenix) the poorer locals seem to be more spread out, and because of the great housing boom, more and more age getting wiped out and rebuilt with nicer residences. We seem to be getting a large migration of people here every month. We have already moved into about 4 th. position in population of the US. That's right, Phoenix is the 4 th. largest city in the US and still growing strong. What really knocked me out about the Phoenix area is that we have over 200 golf courses here!!! Thats more than Myrtle Beach, SC. But this time of the year, you get up at 4:30 in the morning so you and start playing by 5:30 or 6:00 and avoid the mid-day heat! On the whole Phoenix is a fairly safe location, but there is always exceptions and you always, no matter where you are, you have to watch your back. We have lots of sporting facilities and culture. Welcome to the neighborhood.

If you're moving to Phoenix, it's just like any other big city. There are some bad areas in downtown, but a lot of the area is new and keeps on growing, so most of it is very nice. I wouldn't live anywhere else, I've never had any problems with crime and don't take any special precautions. I lock my car and my house, but I don't feel like I need to carry mace or use a club.

Arizona is huge. It is hot. I think most of it is safe. Most of NY is safe, but I wouldn't walk through Central Park at 3 in the morning flashing 100s.

Every city has a ghetto area. However, I found my visits to AZ to be enjoyable; however, very hot at times!

My mother lives there and she likes it. It is very hot and dry but cools in the evening. She did mention that it is not safe to wonder onto Indian Reservations if you do not belong there.

Judging from your avatar, you're most likely black. my friend just moved there 1 month ago and she says it is not that safe. the weather is hot, especially since we're in summer right now. and last week, her neighbor was standing outside her car with all the doors open and smoking. so it's your choice

hot and dry, so I've heard. October has Hot air balloon show that is awesome. But beware. Rattle snakes galore. Best place in the country if you have allergies.

It's safe in Flagstaff, it's not ghetto, and it's very hot and there are lots of mountains. It gets cold at night.
