I am sure you will get loads of good advice here but I would suggest what I would do... I would go to a reputable retailer and put that very question to them. They will be proud to be a leading retailer and will use the opportunity to thrash the competition and I believe they will tell you the difference between their top quality cuttlery and the ones sold by the competition. I often ask salesmen "TELL ME WHY I SHOULD BUY IT FROM YOU ?!" - This is a question that says nothing about you... but one which will put the salesman against the wall fearful of losing a sale should they tell a lie ... They will tell the truth.

It depends on what kind of house you have, if for example, you have a $100,000 trailer, you need the walmart silver painted cook set. 19.99$ if you live in a nicer $300,000 home, go for the costco 300$ basic stainless set. if you live in a million doller or more home, you should be looking for an expensive set. Japaneese chef edition. 300-500$
