One thing you can do is to keep it simple. Eliminate the latest tricks that only work with Windows. The older tricks work quite well.

Second option: If you really want to keep the features that don't work well in other browsers, you could put up an alternative version for Mac and Moz users to select.

Third option (least desirable): Ignore the minority of users who don't use Windows.

Give up. You put a little notice at the top of you website that it works best with IE ... all others take their chances. There is a lot of sophisticated coding involved to make a website compatable with all browsers ... just ask yahoo ... or click on the rss link or right click a page and select show source ... that's for the professionals.

There are ways to detect what browser the client is using, and send different HTML that is specific for each browser. I believe Javascript has built-in browser detection.
