*Change defaults(passwords, SSID)
*Enable wap or wep or any type of encription method you have.
*Enable MAC access control(put your MAC address so you can access your network(to obtain MAC go to START-->RUN-->TYPE "CMD"--> BLACK SCREEN SHOWS-->TYPE IPCONFIG /ALL-->LOOK FOR PHYSICAL ADDRESS.
*After you have turned on all security feature on(depending on AP/ROUTER) Connect to it AND then disable SSID broadcast.

Make sure you set your network up to use WEP, this will be explained in your owners manuals to the router and/or network cards

change your ssid and mark it as not broadcast, then the have to know the name of th enetwork, windows will not find it for them assign a security password or key
