Actually, There is the sufficient Oil in the earth till the end of our's life. The next generation will required to organised the future planning. As per research done by the one of the US University, the rate of oil will rise twice than now in next 20 years. The government will put limitation on that to use of oil and gas in next 40 years.
We used around 50bn barrels in a year while total reserve available is 1.27 trillion barrels of oil and 6,100 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. ( as per Society of Petroleum Engineers's research). Which means that will avail for next 100 years.. Dont worry for this life mate.

I was told that there is enough oil in the Gulf of Mexico to drown all the Arabs. I don't know if that would be considered wasteful, or not. Also there is huge untapped reserves in the Northern Slope and Siberia hasn't been opened very long.

So, go ahead, buy the Land Rover. there'll be plenty of gas to power it.

a hell of alot.... no need to worry we have a reserve recently found under the US that we havn't tapped into yet... so therefore the amount of oil remaining poses no concern while the amount of ozone does... we will run out of ozone protection before oil unless those asshole with trucks that eat 10mpg start CARING

I nearly said "What dipstick asked this question?" but that would be cruel and heartless.

In my car engine, approximately 4 litres, I believe.
