I don't care that the oilers lost last night. and 3/4 of the canes team are from canada was that should settle some of the lame answers i've been getting.

8. You're giving the rest of us in the military a bad name.
Hockey in the south is not a fad; there are plenty of us who do know hockey, and trying to perpetuate an ignorant image only makes you look bad.

1. not all southern people are brainless. 2. not all southern people screw their family members.
3.carolina is the only true southern team on your list. 4. tampa bay, florida, dallas are south but not really truly southern. 5. as far as phoenix, LA, san jose, anaheim... those teams are in big markets who can afford players
6. there are northern people who don't know anything about hockey. i am from michigan and happen to love hockey.
7. us teams pay better than canadian teams
8. you sound bitter that the canadian teams lose to southern teams
9. you are harsh on the southerns
10. get over the fact the nhl includes southern and western teams

You're an idiot.
The NHL expanded south MANY years ago. They are WELL aware of what is going on. And if you hadn't noticed, the minor leagues have also expanded south and are VERY successful in the south (ECHL, specifically).
The Hurricanes have an amazing fan base. They also had enough support to spend money to bring in better players and in turn, go to the Stanley Cup finals.
I'm not a "southern redneck" but I love the Hurricanes. People like you are an embarrassment to fans of whatever team you root for.

Speaking of brainless, the Sharks play on the West coast, nowhere near the south.
Arizona is also not the south.
Tampa is in Florida, which is also not the south.
You know, I'll bet your average little redneck seven year old from South Carolina (which is in the south: one out of three ain't bad) knows which states in the union comprise what we consider "the south."

Ok so you are upset that Tampa Bay won the Stanley cup over a Candian team in the LAST Stanley Cup. You are upset that Carolina is going to once again deny a Candian team the Stanley Cup. Do you really have to hold it against the South that they have better teams then Canada?
