If you're looking for an easy career in education then you should probably pick another major or something. Special Education certainly isn't "easy" and anyone who could think that would probably get tore up upon entering the field. Maybe gifted education? All of the GEAR teacher's I've had never did anything?

Special Education is a very challenging career; perhaps the most challenging within the education field. If you do not want to have to go through much more specific things like science or math, I would go after an Elementary Education degree.
Good Luck with everything!

If you are looking for an "easy" career, you are barking up the wrong tree altogether with education. Teaching is not easy by any means. It requires a great deal of dedication, patience, and a love not only of learning but for helping children to learn and to grow, to fully realize all their potential. With spec ed students you will need an infinite amount of patience and willingness to do whatever is necessary to help the students overcome their individual handicaps, whatever those may be. You might want to sit down with your academic advisor and explore whether teaching is really the career for you.
