1) The Earth has experienced hundreds of ice ages, not just one. IOW there has already been a second ice age, and a third, and a fourth and so on.
2) We are currently in an ice age. Any period when both poles are covered with ice is considered to be an ice age. We are currently in a minor warm period in an ice age that has lasted several hundred thousand years. We call these minor warm periods interglacial because the glaciers are located primarily within the polar regions. But we are very much in the grip of an ice age right now.

Yes, I hope so . The planet needs a cooling down and global warming is terrible. Look at all those hurricanes and volcanic eruptions lately.

Anyway, it has been suggested that europe will know an ice age in about 10 000 years.

With global warming...I fear it will more likely be a "water age" with melted polar caps causing oceans to rise and covering more of earth's surface. Get out your surfboard!
