sounds like he may have an enlarged prostate gland or some other type of blockage, maybe a bladder stone.Stagnant urine can cause infection and can back up to the kidneys and cause problems.

You must get her to a vet so they may be able to see whats fallacious for definite but it surely seems like a urinary tract illness. She might have stones or crystals in her bladder and that hurts. Our little puppy had them and we didnt recognise till he whined while he went and he wasnt going so much both. They'll gather a urine pattern and determine it for crystals then you'll deal with it and get her to feeling higher quick! Or, if its whatever else, they are going to recognise that too and be equipped to support you.

You did not say how old he is.. sounds as if it is a blockage(but if this is it, there should be some irritation) and it could be an enlarged prostate.. It sounds totally like an enlarged prostate but if he is young.. it is not normal

Yes, it is definitely important to go to the er. Urinating is an important thing, and if you don't, you can die from not. Stick his hand in warm water, or let the water run in the sink, and if that doesn't do it, well, then he better go to the hospital.
