the company where i presently work is planning on closing the business & establish a new one, meaning new company name but the nature of business is d same. some of my co workers will be paid separation for their lenght of services, thus some of us will be absorbed to d new company. i need to know if the company must also pay us a separtion for our services on the closed (old) company even if we'll be absorbed on d new company. Legal advise please....

Did you sign a contract for separatiom pay when you hired on? If not, then they can probably terminate you for no reason, with no notice, and NO MONEY.

YOu are not eligible for separation pay unless you are 'separated' from the company - if you are keeping your jobs, there is not a basis for a claim for separation pay.
