Uh, the cloud that is dropping the rain to cause it. A rainbow is a product of refraction. This means that you must have rain, or a prism in order to form a rainbow. Now the rainbow you see outside after a rain storm is caused by you being betwen the sun and the rain. The sun is at a 45 degree angle to the rain, and the rain is bouncing back the refracted light rays at you showing the complete and wonderful visible spectrum of light. As well as the non-visable light, just use a camera set to night vision if you want to see the infered spectrum as well.

It's a Phrase:
at the end of the rainbow used to refer
to something much sought after but
impossible to attain.
( Origin : with allusion to the story of a pot
of gold supposedly to be found by anyone
reaching the end of a rainbow.

There is nothing at the other end of the rainbow but the rainbow. A rainbow is a circle so it doesn't have an end.

the real answer is....nothing.....rainbows are kind of optical illusions if you want to think about it that way. They don't really end anywhere and will look different depending on where you are standing. Sometimes you might even see rainbows that are full circles in the sky

A complete rainbow is a circle. You can see it if you're in an airplane, so there is no end to the rainbow.

The rainbow itself, is on the;" other side"
Which is implicit to say that, its' all the same and that the gold is where-ever you are, within, your sunny rain.

You are your own rainbow...on the "other" side

Peace.
