Self-injury is a coping mechanism. Sometimes people hurt emotionally and because the pain is not tangible they don't understand why...so they physically hurt them self so they can see the pain. It's a way rationalize your emotions by making them visible. It's very unhealthy and you should seek help. Please take a look at the support groups available.

It is the endorphins your body releases when you do something like that. The same way people feel better after cutting themselves. Instead of using drugs off the street to feel good you are using the ones your body makes naturally. The only thing is you can be causing yourself serious injury especially if you are burning yourself in the same spot repeatedly. There are other ways to get a natural endorphin release. For instance running. There are many people who are addicted to running just for that reason.

Don't let people make you feel bad for burning yourself, you are just doing what everyone does looking for some way to disconnect from this world and feel "good". You just need to explore safer ways to do it. Good luck.

Seen a woman on TV who got herself branded instead of tattoos. It looked and sounded very painful. I'd imagine it is incredibly dangerous and it no doubt will do a lot of damage to your skin.

I would suggest you seek medical help if nothing more than to get the burns seen to, and psychological help as you are doing this when you are down.

This is not normal behavior. You need to talk to a professional about this obsessive compulsive behavior. You could really damage yourself. Infection could occur, scarring, not to mention what happens when the burning isn't enough to satisfy your boredom. Please get on the phone and call someone soon. It could lead to other, nastier behaviors.

You probably just like to hurt yourself unconsciously when you are down or depressed. I suggest that you go see a psychologist or a therapist to really know what's happening you because your situation is really weird. (no offence)

I haven't got a clue!

I mean... when I do my ironing and I accidentally brush my arm against the metal plate, YIKES!

I would NEVER do this on purpose!

Besides... I hate scars!

Uhh....can I suggest that you see a therapist? That's not normal, and very dangerous. Burns often can't fully heal.
