Actually it is true that the Europeans in general are a cause of civil unrest in Africa and racism ties right in there. Let me elobrate...you see in cases like lets say Rwanda...the Eurpoeans (Dutch I think in this case) put one group of the same people (with the same religion and culture) in charge just because they looked "more European" because of this when the Dutch left the ones who were opressed revolted...and well you can watch Hotel Rwanda for the rest of the story
