Really, the most intriguing question is "What is a memory, physiologically and anatomically?
If the brain is made up of white and gray matter (different kinds of neurons) and electical activity and neurochemicals, how does that encode into some event or emotion or idea we can recall?
If we can change our biology by changing our minds, then we can't we also change our memories?
The more we learn about it, the less we know, it seems.

I think people are still looking for the real answer to that question.
Some have even suggested that memory is distributed throughout the entire body and not localized in the brain. Not sure what's correct, really.
