By going to the doctor. Usually they can determine sex by sonagram between 18-23 weeks (assuming the baby cooperates!)

There are only two ways to be 100% sure. One is genetic analysis of fetal cells, obtained through preimplantation genetic diagnosis, chorionic vilii sampling, or amniocentesis. The other is the delivery of a baby.
Many OB/GYNs order an ultrasound at about 20 weeks, which, if your baby cooperates, could reveal his or her sex. (Keep in mind that ultrasound isn't 100%; there are lots of cases of people who think they're having a boy only to deliver a girl.)
I sometimes think I'm the only mom in America who didn't want to know what she was having, and managed to avoid finding out (even after bi-weekly biophysical profiles for the last 3-4 weeks in both pregnancies)!

When you were 18-20 weeks pregnant, you probably had an ultrasound to check for deformities. At this stage, if you ask, the technician can also tell you the sex of your baby.
Next time you go for an ultrasound be sure to ask!

Most people have a sonogram at 20 weeks at which point they can usually identify the sex of the baby. If you don't have a doctor you should find one! And, if you don't have insurance you'd probably qualify for medicaid (which covers the cost of a sonogram and your doctors visits).

Your doctor should have you get an ultrasound. That's how I found out. Sometimes you can tell by cravings. With my daughter, I was a real fruity person. I craved fruit all the time. With my son, I was a vegetable, steak/meat and choc. milk person!

Im surprised you havent had an ultra-sound done yet. Let your Doctor know you would like to find out the sex of the baby.
