I've been debating this with my mom for the past half hour, so clarification would be appreciated.

Example: "I'm halfway through the tunnel right now."

or "I'm halfway threw the tunnel right now."

halfway through...

threw means throw in past tense...:)

It's halfway through --
'threw' is the past tense of the verb to throw, and has nothing to do with distance. Or tunnels, for that matter...

It is through. Threw is throw in past tense.

it can only be "Threw" if you were talking about past tense like "You threw the ball through the hoop"
